I know, I know, I'm sorry. I'm slackin!!

Wow, what slackers we've been.
We apologize for neglecting you here, it's not intentional we promise.

I think I, Charlie, burnt myself out with posting. I was posting something every day (which I said I wasn't going to do) and I was having fun spending WAY more time on it then I had intended.

So I needed to take a little break, spend some time with family & take a little trip.
I'm back now & will be back at it soon. I PROMISE!!

Kris, is taking time to be with family during this time. Of course she'll be leaving me to go to Europe this summer, so she should be working extra hard right now. But that's OK, we all need to have a break.

In the meantime, go to our other favorite sites to keep you updated.
Sorry I'm not listing deals daily or store deals.

Thanks for being so patient.

Fred Meyer Founder's Days Sale

This week at Fred Meyer is one of their largest sales of the year.  Lots of good deals to be had!

Some deals to note:

Country Oven Bread $1
Skippy Peanut Butter $1 (not a rock bottom price, but if you're low, this will tide you over until a better sale)
Breyers Ice Cream $2
Tillamook Cheese 2-lb brick $3.99 (great price, especially since many varieties are included)
Fiber Plus Bars 3/$5 (pair this with the $1/2 coupon from the 4/17 RP and they end up being $1.16 each, which is decent.  Again, not rock bottom.)

All of these items require the in-ad coupons, which of course you can find at any Fred Meyer store.

Go here to see a complete list of deals and coupon match-ups.

FREE & MM's at Walgreens 5/8-14

MM's are Money Makers. It's when you actually make money, 'buying' a product.
It gets me, you are actually PAID to take the product out of the store!!

There are a few of these great deals this week at Walgreens, one of the few times I'm excited for a Walgreens trip!

I'm actually going to shop Walgreens this week. Living in area that doesn't get very many Register Rewards (Portland) it just hasn't been worth my time to get anything there since I can get any RR's to 'roll' into another transaction.

This week is different!
There still aren't any RR's (Register Rewards) that I'm taking advantage of, because I'd prefer to get something FREE or Make Money (MM).

There are 5 items that I found that will be FREE or a MONEY MAKER!!
(Now that I'm putting them on the blog & looking for the proof, I see that I'm not the 1st to discover these deals. Oh well, I tried)

Here they are:

Carefree Pantiliners, 20/22ct $0.99
$1/1 from 5/8 SS

Sunburnt Gel, $3.99
$3.99 Mail-in-Rebate, form printed at checkout
$0.50/1 printable MQ, making this a $0.50 MM

NewLife Ultimate Flora, Daily Care $15
$15 Mail-in-Rebate, printed at checkout
$2/1 printable MQ, making this a $2 MM!!

Nexcare Bandages, $2.99
$2.99 Mail-in-Rebate, form on package
$0.55/1 from 5/1 SS or $1/1 here, making this a $0.55 or $1 MM

OK, this one isn't FREE or a MM (at least according to the on-line price)
Nature Made Calcium, 100 ct $5.49

Rite Aid Deals for 5/8-14

Here are this next week's deals according to:

I'll add more when I see them.

Welch's Essential Juice $0.49 @ Safeway

I'm not very creative nor do I want to take the time to be original (unless I get in trouble someday). So a lot of these types of posts are copy/paste.

This week you can get Welch’s Essentials Juice at Safeway for $0.49 each! If you buy 4 Welch’s Essentials Juice you will save $4 instantly! There is also a $1.00 off 1 Welch’s Essentials Juice in the 5/1 Smart Source. Some people are also reporting that there are tear pad coupons near Welch’s jelly in the store. With the coupon you can get 1 bottle of Welch’s Grape Jelly free when you buy 2 Welch’s juice!

Welch’s Essentials Juice $2.49
Buy 4, Save $4.00 Instantly
Use 4 $1.00/1 Welch’s Essentials Juice from SS 5/1
Final Price : $0.49 each when you buy 4

And since these are coupons from the paper, then you get to use the doublers on them for an additional $2.00. Just make sure to pick up something super cheap for the 4cent overage.

Thanks, Frugal Living NW

Hot QFC Deals This Week!

I almost NEVER shop at QFC, because in general, they have high prices and few good sales.  However, once in a while, there's a sale worth mentioning.  This is one of those times!

Through 5/10, they're doing a "Buy 10, Save $5" event.  There are tons of things included in the sale.  You can check out their ad, or visit Coupon Connections for a comprehensive list of sale items and coupon match-ups.

I did two transactions, just to make sure my $5 came off each time.  Here's what I did:

Transaction #1

(4) Boulder Potato Chips $.99 each
(2) Laughing Cow Cheese Wedges $2.49 each
(2) Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Spaghetti $.75 each
(2) Cliff Z Bar 6-pks $1.99 each

Total: $14.42

Used (4) $1/1 Boulder Chip coupons (use zip 90210)
$1/2 Laughing Cow coupons from 4/3 SS
(2) $.50/1 Ronzoni (any) coupons from 4/10 SS
(2) $1/1 Cliff Z Bar coupons

Total OOP: $6.42

Transaction #2

(4) Nutri-Grain Bar 8-pks $1.99 each
(2) Mom's Best Naturals Cereal $.99 each
(4) Uncle Ben's Ready Rice Pouches $1.25 each
(8) Chiquita Bites Apples (these were not included in the event, but were clearance priced at $.49 each)

Total: $18.86

Used (2) $1/2 Nutri-Grain coupons from inside other Nutri-Grain pkg I bought previously
(2) $.75/1 Mom's Best Naturals coupons
(3) $.75/1 Uncle Ben's Ready Rice coupons from 3/20 RP (or you can print one here)
FREE Uncle Ben's Ready Rice coupon I got in the mail
(4) $1/2 Chiquita Bites coupons from 4/17 SS (made all the apples free)

Total OOP: $7.86

Now, these might seem like high totals to some, compared to the free or under $1 transactions we can often pull off.  However, the items I got, like the Z Bars, Nutri Grain bars, rice, etc. are things I buy for my family, and almost always pay way more for.  Z Bars generally run $2.50 or more for a 6-pack, so $.99 is a STEAL!  Nutri-Grain bars for $1.49 are also a great deal in my house.  And who can argue with free apples and potato chips???  A good trip, all in all.
